She wanted a necklace as a remembrance of my mother. My mother’s name was Joan and both of us share Joan as our middle name. So I wanted to honor my mom and include both of us. I put Joan on the front, both of our names on the sides, and my mom’s birthday on the back. It turned out really nice. The engraving is easy to see, but subtle. It’s a very special necklace for both of us.

This little heart is the perfect size and weight. The chain is not really a great quality, and on purchases like these, the chain usually isn't the best, so no surprise there. But if you have a sterling silver chain you're fond of, this little heart can easily be moved to it, which is what I did. Some other reviewers complained about the size of the print of the names, and I don't quite understand this, because I don't want or need to broadcast the names of my children to the world. I know what it says, and I know who's birthstones are in there, and that is what is important to me. Consider it like a locket containing a photo or a lock hair of someone special to you. Every time you look in the mirror, you'll see it and remember them. I love the size and the subtlety. Great purchase!
